Inspired by the memories of vibrant decorations that spring up every Lunar New Year as a kid, I created Togetherness Cards as my own expression of the intimate connection to family and community that occurs around this holiday. Simple gestures like gifting of fruits, lai see, or putting up red decorations to invite good fortune have become cherished rituals I’m grateful to carry on. I’ve paired illustrations of a rabbit and cat (celebrated by the Vietnamese lunar calendar) to symbolize the harmonious change and a flow of creative energy during this water year. Bunny represents hope and compassion, kitty brings play and joy, and blossom brings abundance of new growth.
